Two people were shot in Kent Thursday morning at an apartment building, police said.

Around 6:20 a.m., Kent Police were dispatched to the 2100 block of S 272nd Street to multiple calls of a shooting. One caller said that the victim had been shot in the head.

Officers and medics arrived at the apartment where they found an unresponsive 29-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head as well as a second victim with a gunshot wound.

There has been no word on the man’s condition, nor the condition of a 30-year-old woman found with him inside the West Hill apartment.

A witness said that he may have seen a suspect leaving the area after hearing the gunshots, but no suspect has been found. It was later determined that there was evidence the person seen had left in a vehicle.

“At this point, the evidence collected indicates this was not a random incident,” Kent police wrote in their report.

Police have not made any arrests and are asking for tips.
