Teenage friends plot to stab ex-boyfriend
On Nov. 9 at approximately 3:13 p.m., the Lynnwood Police Department responded to a reported stabbing at Scriber Creek Apartments.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the victim was called out of his apartment, became distracted, and was stabbed by DiJulio. The victim was found with a stab wound in his back and was transported to Providence Hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, according to KOMO News.
After the stabbing, both suspects fled into a wooded area and threw away the knife. Deputies located Murphy and DiJulio at a nearby business plaza shortly after, where they were both arrested. The suspects explained to officers that the stabbing was planned, and the victim had previously dated Murphy.
Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) deputies revealed that the two suspects are current partners, and DiJulio and the victim were previously friends.
An SCSO probable cause affidavit obtained by KOMO News noted that DiJulio admitted to stabbing the victim with a silver steak knife that was given to him by Murphy.
Murphy allegedly communicated with the victim to lure him out of the apartment complex to meet and smoke together. Deputies noted that Murphy had red stains on her sweatshirt that appeared to be blood as she was taken into custody.
DiJulio was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for first-degree assault. Murphy was booked for first-degree assault with a domestic violence enhancement.
