25-year-old man charged for molesting 6-year-old, filming minors in Bellevue

King County prosecutors have filed felony child sex charges against a 25-year-old man who allegedly molested a 6-year-old girl and recorded young girls who were shopping in Bellevue.

has been charged with child molestation in the first degree, voyeurism in the first degree, and attempted voyeurism in the first degree, according to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Police said Nuru is accused of targeting young girls at the Target store in Factoria.

Surveillance video from June 6 shows Nuru secretly filming minors and molesting a girl about six years old, according to court documents.

A loss prevention specialist provided officers with evidence from the evening, the Bellevue Police Department reported.

“It was as bad as it sounds. A stranger followed children while they were out shopping and subsequently recorded them without their knowledge or consent,” Bellevue Police spokesperson Drew Anderson said.

There could be more victims

Nuru was arrested Tuesday at a home in Kent in the 3500 block of S. 249th Pl. His bail is set at $200,000.

Police believe there could be more victims.

“He could be associated with similar crimes that have happened across the region,” Anderson said.
