The person who shot and killed two Rainier Beach High School students last month is still on the run, and the Seattle Police Department (SPD) is asking for the public’s help.

The gunman got off a King County Metro bus around 4 p.m. on Jan. 30 and opened fire, killing the two teens.

“Detectives believe Tyjon Stewart, 18, and Traveiah Houfmuse, 17, were directly targeted when they were shot at a bus stop near Rainier Avenue South and South Henderson Street,” an SPD Blotter post stated.

The shooter had been on the Route 106 bus.

“We want to speak with the crowd waiting at the bus stop as well as passengers on the bus,” SPD Det. David Simmons said. “There were dozens of students from local schools at the stop when the victims were shot.”

Anyone with information urged to contact Seattle police

Assistant Chief Nicole Powell urged anyone with information to contact police.

“Our detectives continue to work diligently and with unwavering dedication to bring those responsible for this tragic and senseless act to justice, and we will not rest until we do,” Powell said. “I want to urge anyone who may have information related to the deaths of these two individuals to please come forward.”

If you have any information, you are asked to call the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000.

You can remain anonymous.

The bullets that killed Whitehead and Villalba do not appear to have come from the teen's gun. Think about what a defense attorney does with that.
