A 24-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly attacking an elderly Redmond resident outside his home, police announced Thursday.
The attack happened on October 16 around 11:20 a.m. According to a post on Facebook, officers responded to a report of a robbery at a home along 159th Ave. NE.
“The elderly victim reported that a person driving a white Tesla approached him as he was unloading groceries, displayed a firearm, and demanded money,” the post stated. “When the victim said he had none, the suspect struck him in the head with the firearm and fled the scene.”
Detectives determined the suspect followed the victim home from a nearby 7-Eleven.
“Surveillance footage showed him observing the victim during checkout before trailing him in the Tesla,” the post stated.
