The second suspect involved in high-profile burglaries across the greater Seattle area is now facing 10 felony charges, the Renton Police Department (RPD) announced.

Patrick Maisonet, 29, allegedly burglarized multiple well-known Seattle athletes, including Ichiro Suzuki, Luis Castillo, Julio Rodriguez, Richard Sherman, and musician Macklemore.

Additional charges filed for high-profile Seattle burglaries

Investigators alleged that Maisonet burglarized at least four residences in Renton, Issaquah, and Edmonds. The total estimated losses were “hundreds of thousands of dollars” in property and cash, according to RPD.

Detectives referred multiple cases against Maisonet to the King County Prosecutors’ Office. In total, prosecutors charged Maisonet with 10 felony crimes, six of which occurred in Renton.

In January, a Ring doorbell camera captured footage of Maisonet attempting to steal a safe from a home in Renton. While Maisonet was inside the residence, he acknowledged the camera by showing his middle finger.

The victim arrived at the residence as Maisonet was fleeing in his vehicle. No contact was made between the victim and Maisonet.

Also included in the charges, Maisonet was accused of a home invasion of former Seattle Mariner Ichiro Suzuki, whose wife was home at the time. Other high-profile home burglary and robbery incidents include current Mariners pitcher Luis Castillo, former Seattle Seahawk Richard Sherman, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Blake Snell, and musician Macklemore.

Maisonet allegedly burglarized Castillo’s home on Feb. 7, then two days later, reportedly burglarized Suzuki’s home on Feb. 9. Maisonet later returned for a second robbery of Castillo’s home on March 28, according to KIRO 7. Sherman’s home was burglarized on March 30, and Macklemore’s home was the last burglary allegedly linked to Maisonet.

Maisonet’s alleged accomplice, 21-year-old Earl Riley, was charged in June with multiple crimes. Riley’s bail was set at $1 million.

“This case exemplifies outstanding investigative work involving multiple agencies,” Renton Deputy Chief Ryan Rutledge said. “These two dangerous and brazen individuals victimized dozens of people and are finally behind bars.”

Bail for Maisonet has been set at more than $2.2 million.

RPD noted the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
