A teenage suspect was arrested by the Seattle Police Department (SPD) after officers found the teen was allegedly connected to at least 10 dangerous armed robberies.

The robberies occurred between Feb. 21 and Feb. 24, with the suspect, a 17-year-old boy, targeting gas stations, convenience stores and pizza shops.

According to SPD’s crime blotter, one of the robberies, which occurred on Feb. 21 in the 1800 block of South Jackson Street, happened after the teen suspect pulled out a gun and grabbed a pizza shop clerk by his uniform, putting the weapon to his stomach and demanding money from the register.

Another similar armed robbery occurred on Feb. 22. At approximately 10 p.m. in the 9600 block of Renton Avenue South, multiple suspects flooded into a convenience store and pointed guns at the clerk on shift.

“The incident scared the clerk to the point that he ran outside of the store to a nearby driver asking them to call 911,” SPD wrote in its crime blotter post.

Through community tips, security footage and digital evidence, detectives with the SPD were able to track down and arrest the suspect. The 17-year-old was arrested in Redmond on March 6 for robbery, and was booked into the Judge Patricia H. Clark Children & Family Justice Center.
