A shooting took place early Thursday morning in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District (CID).

Offices with the Seattle Police Department (SPD) were called to the 400 block of Maynard Avenue S. after receiving reports of gunfire. According to the department, one person was hurt.

“After the shots were fired, the suspect fled the area on foot. Our officers did an area search, and unfortunately, we could not find the suspect,” SPD Detective Eric Munoz told KIRO Newsradio.

The person injured was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

“Any gunshot wound is a significant injury, but this is a non-fatal injury. He was transported to the hospital in stable condition,” Munoz explained.

Currently, no arrests have been made. SPD is investigating the motive for the shooting.
