Tacoma welfare check uncovers fatal stabbing, suspect in custody

A dead man was found with stab wounds in a Tacoma home Thursday, prompting a Tacoma Police Department (TPD) homicide investigation, TPD announced.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., law enforcement responded to a request for a welfare check in the 600 block of S. Jackson Ave. in Tacoma.
Welfare check uncovers Tacoma homicide
After TPD officers arrived at the scene, they found an adult male with fatal stab wounds.
TPD noted detectives and Crime Scene Technicians are currently investigating the incident as a homicide.
Throughout the ongoing investigation, detectives determined there was probable cause to arrest a suspect.
The suspect, a 60-year-old male, was arrested and booked into Pierce County Jail for murder in the second degree.
