We’ve already had two front page sex-related revelations this week.

Sunday, Rick Welts, President of Phoenix Suns, decided he couldn’t keep his secret any longer, and announced he’s gay.

And last night, Arnold Schwarzenegger decided he couldn’t keep HIS secret any longer:

“Arnold Schwarzenegger disclosed last night that he fathered a child with a longtime member of his household staff,” said one report.

Basically confirming he’s NOT gay.

I doubt this really surprises anyone considering the groping allegations when he ran for governor, but notice how this story and the alleged heterosexual escapades of Dominque Strauss-Kahn have utterly buried Rick Welts coming out as gay.

And Welts really agonized over the decision. He runs a basketball team after all — populated by tough, towel-snapping athletes. Admitting gayness could be a career killer.

But it’s turned out to be utterly uncontroversial. In fact, he reports being overwhelmed by supportive e-mails — even a VOICEMAIL from Charles Barkley.

I think it’s official: revealing your gayness has become less dangerous than revealing the extent of your heterosexuality.

You reveal you’re gay, and unless you’ve made your career bashing gay people, that’s pretty much it.

But you reveal the true extent of your heterosexuality, not only do marriages end, but secret children emerge.

I can only imagine how the conversation went between Arnold and Maria. I still wonder how it went between John Edwards and HIS wife.

And you know what? If those women had a choice — I bet both of them would rather their husbands had admitted they were gay.
