Blue states need to send their voters to Nebraska

The latest exit interview given by President Barack Obama was on the Axe Files, the podcast hosted by his long-time friend and political consultant David Axelrod.

And it was time to evaluate the vision of hope and change.

But what seems to sting the most is this idea that he and his party somehow abandoned the white working class.

“I think that’s nonsense,” President Obama told Axelrod. “Look, the Affordable Care Act benefits a huge number of Trump voters.”

But what really got the Internet going was when Obama told Axelrod he could’ve gotten elected again.

“I am confident in this vision because if I had run again and articulated it I think I could have mobilized the majority of American people to rally behind it,” Obama explained.

Donald Trump was quick to tweet “NO WAY” Obama would’ve won the presidency again.

And even Obama admitted that just winning the presidency isn’t enough to govern. You need seats in Congress. And for Democrats to do that, they’re going to have venture outside their urban villages and bike lanes.

“If we cannot compete in rural states, we will see a Progressive president, but a gridlocked Congress,” he said.

That, of course, could take a while. In the short term, Obama has a suggestion.

“I’ve told this story about how I was in Brooklyn and this woman comes up and hugs me, ‘How can we help you, we love you?’ I said, move to Nebraska.”
