Could YOU do this?

Listen to Dave’s Commentary Could YOU do this?
We just accept that at any given moment there’s a group of Republicans debating, and it’s easy to rip them apart.

But have YOU ever tried it?
Answering for everything you’ve ever said, every stand you ever took, religious beliefs, what you think about immigrants:
“The idea that I’m anti-immigrant is repulsive.”- Mitt Romney
We like to lampoon the professional politicians, but it’s not easy. And I was reminded just HOW not-easy by this clip from a Connecticut TV station:
“I might have tacos when I go home, I’m not quite sure yet.”
In East Haven, Connecticut, the police department’s in trouble for profiling Latinos, so a TV reporter asked the mayor ‘what are you doing for the Latino community.’
“What are you doing for the Latino community today?” – reporter. “I might have tacos when I go home, I’m not quite sure yet.”- mayor
Now you see, a professional knows there are times a joke is appropriate.
“I might have spaghetti tonight being of Italian descent. I could go out…I’ve had ethnic food.”- mayor
But a professional will also play the joke over in his head before actually saying it.
“So if I was going to go out and have a Mexican dinner tonight, an Italian dinner tonight.”
And a professional also knows that now might be a good time to shut up.
“It’s an open community…”- mayor “I wasn’t asking about what you’re having for dinner, sir. I was asking what are you doing for the community.” -reporter “I could again, if I was going to have tacos, I would go to the…”- mayor “That’s not the point here mayor.”- reporter
I’m just saying the next time you’re watching a debate, show a little empathy.
It could be SO much worse.
“I have been at times thought to be of an ethnic background.”- mayor
