Dave Ross finds someone who truly believes in Donald Trump’s wall

I got the opportunity to interview Donald Trump’s surrogate Scottie Nell Hughes before the Republican National Convention kicked off and I asked her if she believes everything Trump is promising.

“I believe that he is going to do his best,” she said.

The fact that Donald Trump has not only proposed the wall, but doubled down on it is admirable. It’s even become higher and higher. But I don’t know of anybody who thinks it is actually going to happen.

“Well I do,” Hughes told me Monday morning before the Republican National Convention kicked off. “You’re looking at one.”

She says millions of dollars every year are being transferred from illegal citizens into Mexico. A president willing to stop those wire transfers will help show how corrupt the government in Mexico is, she says.

I asked her if the plan was to tax the wages of undocumented workers.

“They’re not paying taxes, necessarily, to us,” she explained.

But that means you’re making some of the poorest people working in America pay for this corruption.

“Make them go home and hold their own government accountable for their corruption, instead of coming over here …,” she said.
