Did Hillary Clinton really throw Abraham Lincoln under the bus?

I know Americans are sick and tired of politicians lying, so I went to Factcheck.org for the list of falsehoods from Sunday’s debate. And two stood out.

1. Washed emails

“You delete 33,000 emails and then you acid wash them, or bleach them, as you would say. Very expensive process,” Trump said.

Hillary Clinton used something called BleachBit which is a software program. It contains no liquid. It is not expensive. In fact, you can download it for free (they accept contributions).

Although since this became a thing, BleachBit now sells a Hillary Clinton cloth for $5 which you can use to wipe your fingerprints from your server.

2. Leaked transcripts

The leaked transcript of one of Hillary’s paid speeches where she confides that sometimes you have to say one thing in private and another thing in public.

“That was, uh, something I said about Abraham Lincoln,” Clinton explained.

She throws Abe Lincoln under the bus. Trump couldn’t believe it!

“Now she’s blaming the lie on the late, great Abraham Lincoln,” Trump said.

But it turns out when Lincoln was trying to pass the 13th Amendment outlawing slavery, he deliberately did not reveal that the South was in negotiations to end the Civil War. Which would have probably killed the Amendment’s chances.

And we have video of Lincoln’s lie courtesy of Steven Spielberg’s movie “Lincoln.”

“You lied to me, Mr. Lincoln. Mr. Lincoln! You evaded my requests for a denial that, that there is a Confederate peace offer because, because there is one!”

That’s right. Even Honest Abe.
