Donald Trump has told the Associated Press that he will probably NOT be releasing his tax returns before the November election.
“The voters don’t actually care,” he said, and there is no new information in them.
CNN immediately put up a Trump tax montage.

He’s free to release his returns, audit or not.
Anyway, it prompted Mitt Romney to accuse Mr. Trump of hiding some tax bombshell. To which one of Trump’s lawyers replied on CNN: Mitt Romney got forced into releasing his tax returns!
“He didn’t have the backbone like Donald Trump does,” he said.
I hadn’t thought of it that way; that it takes “backbone” to keep your tax returns private. I assumed he was actually afraid of trying to explain his – how did he put it? – “massive deductions.”
Massive deductions. I realize he’s bulletproof, but a tax return showing that those massive deductions left very little taxable income might be a problem EVEN for him.
But it was a gift for Hillary Clinton, who has released HER tax returns going back to the Middle Ages.
“My husband and I have released 33 years of tax returns,” she explained.
It may also undermine Trump’s “Crooked Hillary” concept. Because if, as his lawyer says, we should admire Donald Trump for having the “backbone” to keep his TAX RETURNS private, then just IMAGINE the “backbone” it took for Hillary Clinton to keep all those damn emails private.
