Listen to Dave Ross Commentary: Has money stopped working?

How can Rick Santorum be so far ahead of Mitt Romney?

Which is crazy, because compared to Mitt Romney…he’s a Dickensian pauper.

santMitt Romney started with $57 million, while Santorum has maybe raised about $4 million.

I’m pretty sure that, in today’s dollars, even Oliver Twist had more than that.

And yet Santorum’s ahead by 12 percent?

Could it be…the dog story.

You’ve heard the story about the 1983 Romney family car trip where there was no room in the car — so Romney strapped a dog carrier to the roof rack, fashioned a windshield, and the family dog hopped in:

“Shamus, is what his name is, climbed up there all by himself. Enjoyed his ride,” said Romney.

Yes, until one of the boys noticed something brown trickling down the back window. So they stopped, Romney hosed off the dog, and put him right back up there.

Well, lately, Internet trolls have been busy manipulating Google so that if you search for Romney, it defines his name as a term for being scared **** -less.

So could that be it? Because to see so much money making so LITTLE difference is very disturbing. It would mean that Americans have STOPPED paying attention to political ads. It would mean that anthropomorphized corporations DON’T run everything.

Which makes no sense!

Especially since Santorum is also the victim of an even MORE disgusting Google redefinition campaign.

Could it really be that money is no longer the mothers milk of politics? What if instead – money turns out to be the dog **** of politics?

Yikes! That would be scarier than … birth control!
