Who is more hated in Seattle: Howard Schultz or A-Rod?

The Mariners took two out of three games this weekend in New York against the Yankees. And it likely would have been a sweep had it not been for one notorious Emerald City villain: Alex Rodriguez.
The name of the former Mariner and steroid-tainted slugger is one that KIRO Radio’s Dave Ross says he can’t utter in front of his wife.
“I can’t even mention the name A-Rod in the car,” Ross said. “It’s just because he said he would stay forever, and then the contract that says I have to be paid $1 more than anybody else. That just really got on her bad side.”

710 ESPN Seattle’s Danny O’Neil said that, with Kobe Bryant expected to retire this offseason, that A-Rod might be the lamest, least resonant superstar left in all of sports.
“He is the active career leader in home runs right now, he is certainly a Hall of Famer — depending on how people feel about the (performance enhancing drugs) — but he’s not going to have a stadium to go back to. It’s not going to be Yankee Stadium — they’ve retired 18 jersey numbers there and Jeter was the star when he was there. It’s certainly not here where Alex Rodriguez might be the least popular sports figure, other than Howard Schultz.”
Ah yes, Schultz, the former Supersonics owner who sold the basketball team to Oklahoma City. O’Neil says if you were to put Rodriguez and Schultz in a battle of public opinion dislike, Howard would likely end up as worse.
“But I think Alex wins every other competition,” O’Neil said. “Well, except maybe the referee from Super Bowl XL.”
