It’s shocking to think about Donald Trump groveling for money

Donald Trump groveling for cash is not an image I can make myself believe. And yet there was fellow billionaire Mark Cuban, star of Shark Tank and owner of the Dallas Mavericks, telling Don Lemon on CNN that Trump is running out of money.
“The only way he really has a chance is to go out and get money, and no one is going to just write him a check … because he’s Donald Trump. He’s going to have to grovel,” Cuban said.
He’ll have to grovel, says Cuban, and promise something in return.

Obviously, a lot of anti-Trump people will gleefully savor the schadenfreude of such a moment, but this also has to be causing some moral indigestion for Trump supporters, because of the way he set himself apart from his competition – remember?
“All of that money that’s going to Hillary and Jeb, the people that are putting up that money, it’s like puppets,” Trump said in the past.
He said fundraising is what turns politicians into puppets. Because he used to be a big donor himself, and he knows what that money buys.
“Well, when a guy gives a million dollars and much more than that, some give much more, but do you think they’re talking about like nothing,” Trump has said. “They’re talking Turkey. They’re talking lots of different things.
“With me, I don’t need anybody’s money. I don’t want anybody’s money.”
But now, The Wall Street Journal reports he has agreed to attend a series of fundraisers for wealthy donors. Just like Hillary Clinton.
That makes two people whose transcripts we need to see.
