Dave Ross Commentary – Listen: Mark Zuckerberg slaughters a goat!

Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, who has been on a self improvement kick that had him learning Chinese last year, and learning to wear neckties the year before that, has set a new challenge for himself: he is only eating meat from animals he has PERSONALLY KILLED.

His first kill was boiling a live lobster, then he killed a chicken, and worked his way through the animal kingdom until on May 4th he announced on his private Facebook page, “I just killed a pig and a goat.”

Slit the goat’s throat himself after being instructed by a farmer.

Some Facebook friends were shocked — he lives in Palo Alto, after all, 35 miles from San Francisco, where animals are considered companions, or four-legged associates, not food. But his page still has 4.2 million likes, and why not?

I find this refreshingly HONEST. At a time when the closest most of us come to a farm is Farmville, the guy who embodies 21st century cyberspace is getting his meat old school.

I heard a story about how chicken farmers have all this dark meat left over because Americans prefer white meat, the reason being the dark meat — looks too much like part of an animal! That’s insane!

We actually have a generation which thinks if you cut open a chicken, you’ll find 12 breaded nuggets shaped like little boots.

Zuckerberg doesn’t actually butcher the meat himself, but he eats it all, including the heart and liver. And he says he even used the feet to make chicken stock — which, alas, is the only stock he’s issued so far. Such a tease.
