People carrying ‘I am Melania’ signs will fill the streets if Trump is elected

Melania Trump gave a speech in Pennsylvania Thursday. Her walk-on music was “Aquarius/Let the Sunshine in.” And in that spirit, she talked about the need to be kind to each other, and about the adopted country she’s loved from the time she was a child in her native Slovenia.
“America was the word for Freedom. America meant if you could dream it, you could become it,” she said.

She talked of hard work, rejection, and of finally realizing her dream.
“After a 10-year process, which included many visas, I studied for the test and became a US citizen,” she explained.
Donald Trump has never said exactly how he’ll reform the immigration system, but he obviously sees his wife as a model of legal immigration. And the way she got here was to find a business willing to hire her – even though she had no work back home at the time – she then got a one-year work visa which she renewed five times, and then successfully applied for a green card as a person of “extraordinary ability,” using, as proof of her extraordinary ability, a letter which she wrote herself. And now she’s a citizen.
Well, around the world, there are millions of people with the same American dream she had — who are out of work, as she was — and would be delighted to write a convincing letter, as she did.
And if she becomes First Lady, I’m betting one of the first things she’ll see from her East Wing window will be thousands of signs saying “I Am Melania.”
