Raccoons and Welfare

The Bloodthirsty Raccoon story had me saying on today’s show that I don’t mind people giving animals a handout; it’s when the animals get arrogant and start expecting it that I draw the line.
Listener Greg quickly Magic-Messaged that he’d caught me red-handed criticizing a sitting President:
Name: Greg
City: Auburn
Dave,
Not sure if you really listen to what you’re saying. Your talking about the racoons getting use to the feeding and you used the word entitled…gee…sounds like the Obama programs.
This is a good point. But alert listeners will recall my perennial retort to that particular retort, which is: It’s fair to cut off welfare as long as we allow humans to do what the critters do, that being, to engage in a subsistence lifestyle of scavenging and nest-building on other peoples’ property.
If Greg is willing to legalize that, we have a deal!
