You remember Antoin Dodson.
Well obviously, we have a rapist in Lincoln Park.
A local TV station interviewed him after somebody broke into his family’s apartment in Huntsville, Alabama.
“He’s climbin’ in your windows, he’s snatching your people up, tryin’ to rape them. So you need to hide yo’ kids, hide yo’ wife, and hide yo’ husband, cause they rapin’ everybody out here,” Dodson said on TV.
His TV news moment was immediately autotuned into a hip hop song that went viral:
‘Hide yo’ kids, hide yo’ wife’ became a catch phrase and pretty soon Dodson had an agent. He’s been on the road ever since.
And now, he has his first professional video “Lovesick Lullaby.”
In three days it got 150,000 views on YouTube. He now tours and hob-nobs with the stars. He even got to meet Katie Couric, which he described as his “wow moment.
He was arrested at the Huntsville Airport last April for marijuana possession – embarrassing.
But, for a star, a run-in with the law is almost obligatory. It can only deepen his singing.
From drive by news interview, to star. Only in America, with a little help from the internet.
