Trump is going to find out even presidents make sacrifices

When President-elect Donald Trump takes the oath tomorrow, he’ll not only be moving into less luxurious accommodations than he’s used too, he’ll also have to settle for a more utilitarian flying experience.

He seemed to surprise everybody when he questioned the high cost of replacing Air Force One – but then, here’s a guy who’s used to having his own plane. A plane which is smaller, but considerably more elegant.
He’d probably prefer to just keep flying in his own plane, but as CBS’s Peter Greenburg points out it just wouldn’t do.
From nose to tail, the president-elect’s plane is smaller, can fly about 4,400 miles, and carry 43 passengers, according to Greenburg. On the other hand, Air Force One can fly 7,800 miles with more than 70 passengers. It can be refueled in the air. It also has state-of-the-art defenses, which is said to include an anti-missile system, and a “blast-resistant outer skin rumored to withstand a nuclear blast.”
Pretty impressive, especially considering the planes the rest of us fly struggle with a flock of geese.
But as cool as all that stuff is, Trump is giving up quite a bit.
Peter Greenburg met with the man who designed the interior of Trump One.

Sky Theater designed the plane’s entertainment system and included “a special T button” that overrides everybody else. The movie system comes with more than 1,000 titles.
Plus, his Boeing 757 boasts 24-karat-gold plated seat-belts and bathroom fittings, plush carpets, and cream colored leather seats.
All of this Trump will now be giving up. But as we know, freedom isn’t free, and sometimes even a president has to make sacrifices.
