It’s Feb. 14, which means it’s Valentine’s Day. KIRO Newsradio’s Gee Scott and Ursula Reutin Show shared their plans for the day on air.

Ursula says she’ll go out to dinner with her husband, but they don’t know where yet.

“We have some favorites, and I don’t think that they’re generally that busy on Valentine’s Day, but we did not make a big reservation for some fancy place so we’ll just find someplace,” she said.

“We went to Pike Place Market over the weekend and I was about to buy flowers, and he hinted that I might be getting some,” she added. “So that’s very sweet. And I’ll have something for him — when I say ‘I will,’ I haven’t gotten it yet.”

Gee & Ursula: How do we define generosity?

“Do you guys make a big deal of Valentine’s Day when you’ve been married 28 years?” she asked.

“First of all, that was a subtle flex,” Gee laughed.

Ursula says some years she and her husband have planned a trip around Valentine’s Day, but other years she thinks it’s OK to keep it simple — maybe just exchange cards, give each other hugs, and “talk about how much we appreciate each other.”

Gee said he put up a Valentine’s Day post on Facebook.

“Don’t tell me that’s it,” Ursula said.

“That’s it,” Gee replied. “And in that I said, ‘PS, there’s a shortage on flowers.'”

“No, there’s not!” Ursula said with a laugh. “There are plenty — they’re all over Pike Place Market.”

“The truckers aren’t delivering flowers, Ursula,” Gee said.

“Met Market was full of flowers, no excuses,” she replied.

But Gee stuck to his excuse: “Nope — shortage on sour cream, shortage on cream cheese, shortage on flowers, avocados.”
