The Seattle Seahawks don’t know who their starting quarterback will be next season, but rumors are swirling.

Colin Kaepernick tweeted this weekend that he’s been working out and staying ready, and asked if any “professional route runners” were interested in working out together. Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett then offered to run routes with him, and the reply from Kaepernick was, “I’ll be there tomorrow,” implying that he may be in Seattle — or at least in the same place as Lockett.

In other NFL news, seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady decided he’s not ready to retire just yet and will be returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this season.

“There’s a lot to talk about there,” host Gee Scott said. “Real quick, let me address Tom Brady: My man was retired for 41 days.”

Gee joked that Brady went home and quickly got tired of his kids.

But, on a serious note, said: “What I’ve learned from guys that have retired, you have gone your whole life being ‘the man’ in all these rooms, … but when you retire and you go home, you’re not ‘the man’ at home. You’ve got to kind of work your way back into the home, so you’re not getting that. You miss that locker room, you miss your friends, … that comradery.”

As for whether Colin Kaepernick could be — or should be — an option for the Seahawks, Gee’s not sure.

Kaepernick became a free agent after the 2016-17 season and remains unsigned by any NFL team, so has now been out of the league for five years. He played six seasons for the San Francisco 49ers.

“The unpopular opinion is this: I don’t think Colin Kaepernick really wants to play,” Gee said. “All of a sudden he says, ‘Oh hey, everybody, I’m ready to play,’ and gets everybody all riled up.”

“You saw the video — he looked pretty good,” host Ursula Reutin chimed in.

“No, he looked terrible in that video,” Gee replied.

“See what I know,” Ursula laughed.

“I call it like I see it,” Gee said.

Gee then asked if you had to pick between Deshaun Watson or Kaepernick, who would you choose?

“I would pick Colin Kaepernick. I cannot excuse more than two dozen lawsuits and criminal complaints involving sexual harassment and sexual abuse,” Ursula said, referencing complaints against Watson. “If the Seahawks were to go with Deshaun Watson, in my opinion, I would say that is just a sign, a reminder that teams are more interested in winning at all costs versus doing the right thing.”

Gee would pick Watson.

“For two reasons — one, with Deshaun Watson — we in this country are innocent until proven guilty, first and foremost. And here’s a situation where the courts say one thing, who am I to go against that? Two, as far as Colin Kaepernick’s concerned, he’s six years removed from the game, I don’t think that he could help this team out in any way, shape, or form.”

Ursula says her actual answer would be neither of them, but she had to pick one of the two. If she could choose anyone, her vote is for Gardner Minshew.
