KIRO Radio presents a special live one-hour Thanksgiving Eve broadcast called “COOPER 5-0,” marking the 50th anniversary of the hijacking of Northwest Airlines Flight 305 from Portland to Seattle – better known as the DB Cooper skyjacking of Nov. 24 – also Thanksgiving Eve in 1971.
Producer and host Feliks Banel shared special archival reports, as well as new interviews with eyewitnesses and those who haven’t given up trying to solve the half-century old mystery.
I took a field trip to the Washington @HistoryMuseum's archive in Tacoma to get a close look at the parachute #DBCooper left behind, with help from lead curator Gwen Whiting.
