American Spectator editor believes releasing Epstein files will squash conspiracy theories

Nov 19, 2025, 5:02 AM

On Monday, both the Senate and House passed a bill to force the Justice Department to publicly release the Jeffrey Epstein files, The Associated Press reported.

Dan Flynn, senior editor at the American Spectator, believes releasing the files, even though most of them will probably not have a lot to do with Epstein, is important to put an end to conspiracy theories.

“A lot of people are out there saying, ‘Well, are they hiding things because these are powerful people, these are politically connected people, or are they hiding things because there are foreign intelligence agencies and American intelligence agencies involved in this?’ And so I think the bottom line with it all is that — if you don’t want to have conspiracy theories flourish, release the information immediately,” Flynn said on “The John Curley Show” on KIRO Newsradio.

Flynn used the example of John F. Kennedy’s assassination.

“I’m the last person in the country that believes that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. But I think if they had released that information on, like, November 25, 1963, a whole lot more people would believe as I do. And I think, unfortunately, with the Epstein stuff, when you don’t throw out information, people are going to fill in the void with all sorts of theories,” he said.

Flynn added that while some theories may prove true, he doubts the files will reveal the full truth.

“They’re going to say we’re releasing all the files and 20 years from now, we’ll realize, well, they didn’t release everything,” he said.
