I’m gonna tell you something: if you watched that Seahawks game against the 49ers and walked away thinking Seattle isn’t good enough, I saw something COMPLETELY different!
I saw a football team that has everything it takes to win another championship, but they’ve got to stop beating themselves. Four turnovers. Three of those led to 21 points in the first half. This Seahawks defense held one of the best teams in football to just 269 yards! Think about that.
Now, I’m not making excuses. San Francisco earned that victory. Congratulations to the Niners, but here’s what I want Seahawks fans to hear.
Don’t confuse a sloppy loss with a team that isn’t good enough
There’s a difference between getting beat because somebody is better than you and getting beat because you didn’t play your best football. I believe the latter is what happened to Seattle. Sam Darnold has to be better. The offense has to protect the football, and I believe this team knows this.
Here’s the good news: The Seahawks don’t have to find more talent; they just have to get more out of the talent they already have. I have no doubt that will happen.
So if you’re a Seahawks fan, don’t you dare give up on this football team. I believe the Seahawks are one of the best teams in the National Football League, and sometimes a loss like this is exactly what a team needs. It reminds them that talent gets you in the conversation, but it’s discipline that gets you a trophy.
Here’s a reminder: the Seahawks were 3-2 last year, so they’ve been here before.
