‘He wants to keep his job’: Curley criticizes Trump’s recent economic policy decisions

President Donald Trump announced a new mortgage plan proposing a 50-year mortgage, funded by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, to lower monthly payments for U.S. homeowners. The plan also aims to make homeownership more accessible across the board.

John Curley, host of “The John Curley Show” on KIRO Newsradio, criticized Trump’s recent economic policy decisions overall, further claiming that many government officials solely base their decisions on keeping their own jobs.

“You have people acting in their own self-interest to be able to keep the jobs that they love. Trump wants to be able to make life more affordable. He wants to keep his job,” Curley said. “Every time you have the government come in, you’ll see them distort the marketplace. Why? Because the people who have the jobs that got elected want to keep those jobs because they’d like those jobs, because they know that in the free market, nobody would pay them to do what they do.”

Curley piggybacked on his statement by stating that no matter what a government official says, whether it be good or bad, “freedoms” are being taken from one person and given to another.

“Trump wants to keep his numbers high; he’s at 34%, he knows he’s gonna get impeached continuously because they’re going to lose the house,” Curley said. “He’s going to take the power of the federal government, legally or illegally, and he’s going to get into the marketplace and start screwing around in order to bring down the price for one thing, and not affect the supply.

“Again, whenever you hear any one of these guys talking about, ‘We’re going to do this for you and do that for you,’ If they’re doing that for you, they’re screwing somebody else’s life, liberty, and the pursuit of property. Those are your freedoms, and the government plunders each of those,” Curley continued. “Without your okay, they take it from you and give it to somebody else. That is plunder. The sad thing is, nothing we can do about it, it’s already baked in.”
