It looks like Trump wouldn’t help Newt get to the moon

If you were engaged by Newt Gingrich’s promise to put a colony on the moon by the end of his second presidential term, you might be out of luck.

In order to make commercial space travel happen, it’s likely Newt would have looked to pioneers of industry, self-made entrepreneurs who wanted to invest in the space travel market – men like Donald Trump.

Donald Trump has never explicitly expressed interest in moon landing. At last spring’s White House correspondence dinner, President Obama did suggest that Trump could investigate the reality of the moon landing.

Down on Earth, Trump has taken a vested interest in the presidential race. It was his own possible vie for the presidency that prevented Trump from moderating a debate in December.

But the endorsement of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney really means The Donald won’t be running for president as third party candidate.

Politico’s James Hohmann told 97.3 KIRO FM’s Ross & Burbank that the endorsement neutralizes Trump.

What the endorsement won’t do, is sway voters, Hohmann said. “Endorsements rarely matter.”
