Singing & Dancing Sells Girl Scout Cookies

Over the past couple of weeks, grocery store entrances have been taken over by Girl Scouts slinging their coveted cookies.

But one Everett 10-year-old has developed her very own unique sales approach.

“I’ve been singing and dancing because it entertains people and it entertains us. It’s fun and you can get warmed up,” says Lexi Cathcart.

Her mom, Connie Cathcart, says it’s been good for business.

“I think it’s really worked and I have noticed when people drive in and they see her singing and dancing, it already engages them. So then when they come back out [of the store] they’re more apt to buy cookies.”

Lexi has single-handedly sold 800 boxes already, but her goal is 1,200 boxes by this Sunday. She plans to use the money she earns to go to horse camp, take babysitting classes and donate to the Catholic Community Services.

For those who don’t have a sweet tooth, but want to support troops who do, there’s Operation Cookie Drop.

“You can donate any amount you want, or a box of cookies, and they’re shipped overseas to the troops,” says Connie. “It’s a good thing to do. It makes everybody feel good.”

So if you’re up in Everett, and want some relief from this cold and stormy day, you can get a little dose of sunshine from Lexi. When people see her singing and dancing, she says, “They laugh and they have a big huge smile on their face.
