Bloodworks Northwest, a regional blood supplier for the Pacific Northwest, and pet retailer Mud Bay have teamed up for Bloodworks’ ongoing “Give Blood. Rescue a Human.” campaign.

The pet-inspired initiative looks to celebrate the bond between people and their furry friends and encourages donations throughout the region, according to a press release.

As part of the effort, Mud Bay is hosting Bloodworks Bloodmobile drives at select Mud Bay locations across Washington and Oregon. This includes a kick-off live-painting event at Mud Bay University Place with mononymnal Pacific Northwest artist Henry. The event will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Sept. 3.

“We’re incredibly proud to be working together to bring lifesaving blood donations closer to our communities through this important work,” said Bloodworks’ CEO, Curt Bailey, in the release. “This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to celebrate the special bond between people and pets, while inspiring our communities to save lives.”
