Another measles case in traveler visiting Seattle, Sea-Tac

Another case of measles infection has been detected – this time the person was at locations in West Seattle and at Sea-Tac Airport.
Doctor Jeff Duchin, with King County Public Health, says most people who may have come in contact with this traveler from California aren’t at risk because they’re vaccinated.
But if you were at Sea-Tac terminal B on March 31 between 4:30 and and 8:30 p.m. you might want to get checked out, especially if you are pregnant or have a compromised immune system.
Duchin says the person infected was likely exposed to the measles while on a flight with an earlier confirmed measles case on March 21, 2014.
You may have also been exposed if you were at Safeway, 9620 28th Ave SW or Marshalls, 2600 SW Barton Street on March 30 between 4:00p.m.-8:00 p.m.
This is the second case reported in the past week. The state health department said a Whatcom County woman in her 20s became contagious while on a trip to British Columbia on March 26. She was at a concert at KeyArena and at least a half dozen other Seattle locations in the couple days following.
