Redmond police are asking for help identifying a group of suspected car prowlers, some of whom were clearly caught on camera.

Police said surveillance cameras recorded eight suspects who broke into several cars and SUVs at two locations early Wednesday morning.

Owners of several vehicles reported car break-ins at the Capella Apartments parking garage, near N.E. 24th Street and 152nd Avenue N.E.

Other vehicles were broken into roughly three blocks away, at the Village Overlake Building on Tagore Avenue N.E.

Police released surveillance camera images of several of the suspects. The time stamp on one of the photos shows the crimes took place at 3:19 a.m.

The photos clearly show the faces of at least three people sought by investigators.

After reviewing the footage closely, investigators determined that at least eight people were involved.

The cameras show them inside the secured garage between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m.

They recorded the suspects who appeared to be committing the property crimes by entering vehicles and tampering with locks.

The surveillance footage also showed members of the group carrying bags and backpacks, presumably to carry anything of value they could steal from cars.

Additionally, detectives said the surveillance video showed one vehicle used by the group during the operation.

It was a stolen, dark-grey Lexus with a Washington state license plate of CTX8719.

The Lexus had been stolen from the Renton area.

Investigators said the people caught on camera committing the crimes may be connected to several other car prowls reported on that same night.

Police are asking anyone who recognizes any of the individuals in the images to contact them.

The police department is urging anyone with information about the prowls to contact them to assist in their investigation.

They can contact Redmond Police at (425) 556-2500. The case number assigned to the case is #26-012501.

The Redmond Police Department also reminds everyone to always remove valuables from vehicles, lock doors, and report suspicious activity immediately.
