Transmission rate has slowed; Mandatory sick leave for high-risk workers

KIRO Radio’s Dave Ross and reporter Aaron Granillo cover a new study from the Institute for Disease Modeling in Bellevue, Wash., that shows the person-to-person transmission rate has slowed significantly. Thanks, social distancing!

Governor Inslee announced sweeping mandatory guidelines Monday that will allow any worker over 65 or individuals with underlying health conditions to use all vacation and paid sick leave time, and then file for unemployment benefits, if they don’t feel safe coming into work.

Reporter Hanna Scott tells us about a local COVID-19 survivor who was the first to donate plasma. It may help researchers find a treatment.
