Urban planner Cary Moon is maintaining her lead over Nikkita Oliver in the primary race for mayor of Seattle.
According to the latest poll results, Moon leads Oliver with 23,417 votes. As of the latest count Thursday evening, Oliver had 20,839 votes.
Because Seattle voters turn in ballots by mail or drop-off boxes, it takes the election commission multiple round of result tallies before a final outcome. Results are posted every weekday until the August 15, when results will be certified.
Durkan guaranteed a spot on ballot
Former U.S. Attorney Jenny Durkan maintains a strong lead and is guaranteed a spot on the November ballot. She’s snagged 30 percent of the vote.
