A massive fire sent flames shooting through the branches of a large, tall tree in Seattle’s University District late Tuesday afternoon.
The fire reportedly began at a homeless encampment near NE 50th Street and 9th Avenue NE. It was spotted around 4:30 p.m. Thick black smoke could be seen from I-5.
Ten units were dispatched to the scene. No injuries were reported. Siding on a building adjacent to the blaze was melted. It is unclear how the fire began.
