89-year-old Royal City pilot dies after crashing in Grant County field

An 89-year-old pilot died on Wednesday evening after crashing a small plane in a field.

The Grant County Coroner’s Office identified Dwain Edward Forester of Royal City as the pilot, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday.

Officials confirmed that Forester was the only person aboard the plane when it crashed.

Forester’s family has been notified, and the Federal Aviation Administration has opened an investigation.
