Seattle Police have arrested a man who fired several dozen rounds in a West Seattle neighborhood Thursday afternoon.

Police say no one was injured, but several schools were ordered to shelter in place as a precaution.

Neighbors tell KIRO Radio’s Brandi Kruse they heard several dozen shots in bursts of six at a time.

Police say the man opened fire in a greenbelt just off the2100 block of Arch Place SW around 3 p.m.

The man had a handgun and shotgun. He hit several parked cars, police say.

The man was referred for a psychological evaluation.
