A horse that was stolen from an Enumclaw barn last week has been found “safe and sound,” the King County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Ruben, the horse, went missing last week in an early-morning theft involving a large truck towing a horse trailer, the horse’s owners revealed, citing security camera footage.

“It’s obviously a truck and trailer that belongs to somebody who knows horses, and it’s not some old, dilapidated type of trailer,” Jack Hodge, the owner of Double Star Ranch, told KING 5. “It’s a three-horse trailer with a dressing room.”

Additionally, the barn is located in a secluded area, far from public roadways.

The investigation into Ruben’s theft is ongoing. A spokesperson with the King County Sheriff’s Office said it cannot release further information about the case, as of this reporting.

“This horse, of course, was found safe and sound by our deputies, sergeants, and some great detective work on Friday,” the sheriff’s office wrote on social media. “Ruben is back with his family in Enumclaw as we work to piece together what happened.”
