Three people arrested after protests in Seattle

Seattle Police arrested three people on Saturday after two protests — one against Sharia and the other pro-Muslim.
Officers deployed pepper spray in Occidental Park when a fight broke out. One woman and two men were arrested for obstructing and booked into King County Jail.
SPD spokesman Sean Whitcomb told KIRO 7 the department was prepared for anything.
ACT for America’s rally began at 10 a.m. at City Hall Plaza. Organizers say they’re taking a stand against Sharia, which they say is incompatible with the U.S. Constitution. The event is one of 28 anti-Sharia demonstrations in the United States.
Anthony Parish of Kent, the organizer for the “Seattle March Against Sharia,” told KIRO Radio’s Dori Monson the rally is just “to make people aware about what’s going on in the world.”
The other march, called “Seattle Stands with our Muslim Neighbors,” seeks to bring the community together in solidarity with Muslims. They call ACT for America a recognized hate group.
That march got underway earlier Saturday in Occidental Park.
