Thieves drove a vehicle through the front of the Issaquah Costco and stole an unknown amount of jewelry early Sunday morning before the store was open to customers.

“We received a call about 6:30 in the morning where a vehicle was driven through the entrance of Costco,” Issaquah Police Commander Chris Wilson told KIRO Radio.

Three individuals exited their vehicle, fired shots into a jewelry case, and grabbed what they could.

A Costco employee who was there at the time went to the front to see what all the commotion was. One of the thieves pointed their gun at them and told them to leave, which they did. No one was injured in the incident.

The employee told Issaquah Police that the three thieves were completely covered in dark clothing, so there is no suspect description available at this time.

“According to the employee, they were covered up pretty well, I guess you’d say,” Wilson said. “They were covered in clothing that wouldn’t reveal their race, gender, anything like that.”

There is also no description of the vehicle they escaped in.

Wilson says it’s fortunate that no one was shot or injured in this robbery.

“We do recognize that though these type of incidents, … no one was obviously shot at or injured, it’s still a traumatic incident for the one employee, so our hearts go out to them,” he said.

The Issaquah Costco remained closed to customers on Sunday. Police are searching for the suspects.
