Days after a windstorm knocked out power to more than 300,000 customers, thousands were still in the dark.

At approximately 3 p.m. Saturday, 6,900 Snohomish County PUD customers remained without power. Puget Sound Energy was reporting 166 without power around 10 a.m. The windstorm hit Tuesday.

The number of PSE customers jumped to 788 by 3 p.m., however, the outage did not appear to be linked to the Tuesday storm.

Snohomish County PUD expected to restore power to the majority of remaining customers by Saturday evening.

Though customers were showing their appreciation on the Snohomish PUD Facebook page Saturday morning, frustration was showing.

Forecast and current conditions for Western Washington

“Cruise around Ben Howard this morning thank you snopud,” one person wrote. “6 days without power is a little much.”

That statement rings especially true for those who rely on electricity for heat. Temperatures have dipped into the low 30s at night and are barley reaching the mid-40s during the day, the National Weather Service reports. The high for Saturday is expected to by around 46 degrees, with a low of 36 at night. Sunday is expected to have similar temperatures.

Some Snohomish PUD customers have gone so far as to try and restore power on their own. KING 5 reports two men near Monroe were seen trying to re-attach a downed power line. Of course, the company immediately condemned the decision and warned people not to try restoring their own power.

Snohomish PUD asks anyone without power to call 425-783-1001.
