Several issues on SB I-5 snarl morning commute in both directions

An early-morning crash that blocked the two left lanes of southbound I-5 near the Puyallup River Bridge caused backups in both directions.
Though the crash only blocked the southbound lanes, northbound drivers experienced five miles of backups, KIRO Radio’s Chris Sullivan reports. The backups on northbound I-5 were caused by “lookie-loos.”
Still major issues in Tacoma. 2 left lanes blocked SB I5 at Puyallup River Bridge. 2 mile backup. NB has 4+ mile backup.

Sullivan reports the crash near the bridge was caused by a wrong-way driver.
Just before that crash finally cleared, another crash was reported near the Port of Tacoma on southbound I-5.

That crash was cleared around 7:20 a.m.
Another crash was reported on southbound I-5 at the “Fife curve” around 7:40 a.m.
