Pilot injured after small plane makes emergency landing in Auburn

A small plane made an emergency landing in Auburn on Saturday, police said.
According to a post on the Auburn Police Facebook page, the small aircraft took off from California and experienced engine trouble. The pilot tried to land in Renton but decided it would be safer to land in Auburn, the post said.
“While approaching the area, the plane lost its second engine, forcing an emergency landing,” according to the post. “The female pilot successfully landed the aircraft in a field at a GSA construction site.”
“Heard the engine go out overhead!!!” Lyndl Holly-Green said in a comment on the Facebook post. “Glad to hear they were able to make a somewhat safe landing.”
“It went over our house in Lakeland Hills and everybody came out of their house to look up because it was making a horrible sound,” Janet Honeywell said in another Facebook comment. “Thank God they’re OK!!”
The pilot was hurt, but her injuries are described as “non-life threatening.” Her male passenger was not hurt.
The incident is under investigation.
