Seattle snow: What you need to know for Friday morning

The National Weather Services reports that the dew point from Pierce County north is expected to be around 20 degrees over Thursday night. That means snow falling until the early morning hours across the region. Snow is expected to turn into rain Friday morning.

10:39 p.m. Still snowing on Capitol Hill, Woodinville, Shoreline, Burien, Bellevue, and Everett. The snow is still moving north to Whatcom County.

10:10 p.m. Weather Service reports that Camp Muir on Mount Rainier was 6 degrees tonight with winds at 74 mph. Wind chill was -28 degrees.

10:06 p.m. Snowing in Bellevue.

10 p.m. National Weather Service predicts snow will extend to Island County and reach Whatcom County within an hour.

9:35 p.m. Snow in Shoreline.

9:20 p.m. PDX Airport open again. Portland got the first snow of the day before the system moved north.

9:15 p.m. Snow in Ballard.

9 p.m. Snow still falling in Tacoma. Chains being put on buses in Northgate in Seattle.

8:35 p.m. “Big fluffy flakes” in Seattle’s Queen Anne.

8:30 p.m. Weather Service reports “barely a flurry” at Sand Point in Seattle.

8:25 p.m. Light snow in north neighborhoods of Seattle. Heavier snow in downtown, Capitol Hill, etc.

8 p.m. Snow falling in Eastlake.

7:58 p.m. Snow is reportedly falling around Capitol Hill.

7:45 p.m. National Weather Service says dry air is preventing snow from falling in areas around Seattle.

7:30 p.m. Federal Way reporting that snow is falling harder. Snow seems to be mostly concentrated around Tacoma / SeaTac / Federal Way at this point.

7:20 p.m. Light snow in SeaTac still.

7:10 p.m. Snow falling in Kent.

7:05 p.m. Snow still falling strong in Lakewood, Tacoma area.

7 p.m. Winter Weather advisory issued for central and north Washington coasts where up to 3 inches of snow is expected to fall Thursday night. .

6:55 p.m. Snow falling at Bremerton Airport.

6:50 p.m. Snow falling at SeaTac Airport. The National Weather Service says flight delays should be expected Thursday night.

6:40 p.m. About 3 inches of snow on the ground in Olympia.

6:35 p.m. Snow line seems to be stalled at the Pierce-King County line.

6:30 p.m. Snow reported near, south, west, and around, but not anywhere in Seattle.

6:10 p.m. Snow reportedly stopped falling Centrallia, nearly four hours after it first started to fall.

6:05 p.m. KIRO 7’s Morgan Palmer noting that Texas is getting snow before Seattle. Balmorhea State Park, not far from Mexican border, seeing snow.

6 p.m. No changes at Sea-Tac Airport as no snow has fallen there yet.

5:50 p.m. KIRO 7’s Morgan Palmer saying snow in Seattle area possible in the 6 p.m. hour. In the meantime, the air is too dry for snow.

5:45 p.m. Coastal communities such as Ocean Shores seeing snow. Aberdeen reporting about 2 inches.

5:40 p.m. Communities to the west getting snow before the east side of Puget Sound. Snow front touching Port Orchard and the south end of Bainbridge Island.

5:35 p.m. At this point, the snow front has significantly slowed and is lingering around Kent and Des Moines.

5:25 p.m. Whereas the snow front was moving quicker than expected earlier, the snowy system is slowing down, according to the NWS.

5:20 p.m. KIRO 7’s radar showing the snow front slowing just south of Kent.

5:17 p.m. Yelm, east of Olympia, reports just under an inch of snow.

5:13 p.m. High winds of 25-45 mph in North Bend reported, which was predicted by the National weather Service. Gust of up to 53 mph.

5:05 p.m. KIRO 7 reports that Seattle needs to get more humidity for significant amounts of snow to settle.

3:20 p.m. Snow falling as Joint Base Lewis McChord.

3 p.m. Reports of snow in Olympia.

2:05 p.m. Snow falling on Centralia

1:40 p.m. Snow falling on Chehalis
