SR 520 ramps, Montlake Bridge will close for weekend of Oct. 8-11

After a month-long closure of the Montlake Bridge, the state warned that it would still need five weekends of work to spruce up the mechanical systems on the bridge.
This — Oct. 8-11 — is one of those weekends.
Crews will work around the clock over the weekend of Oct. 8-11 to install sewer, communications, and gas lines around the Montlake lid and continue upgrading the Montlake Bridge. Work begins at 10 p.m. Friday and will continue until 5 a.m. Monday.
Over the weekend, access to local streets and State Route 520 ramps in the area will be limited. Montlake Boulevard will be closed between East Roanoke Street and Northeast Pacific Street. Lake Washington Boulevard will be closed between Montlake Boulevard and East Foster Island Road in the Arboretum. All SR 520 ramps to and from Montlake Boulevard and Lake Washington Boulevard will be closed as well.
Drivers going eastbound on SR 520 from I-5 will not be able to exit at the ramps mentioned above during the weekend closures. Be aware that drivers traveling across SR 520 will incur a toll.
There will be flaggers positioned on Lake Washington Boulevard to direct residents to their driveways. A pilot car will provide access for locals who live in the Shelby/Hamlin neighborhood.
While the roads are closed this weekend, the sidewalks will be open north and south along Montlake Boulevard. The trails across SR 520 to the Eastside and under SR 520 to the Arboretum will also be open.
