String of Seattle armed robberies target Vietnamese

Police hope to end what they call “increasingly violent” robberies by two men targeting Vietnamese businesses in South Seattle.
The first in the string of crimes happened Nov. 16 at a restaurant on Martin Luther King Jr. Way when a man with a gun demanded cash.
“Sort of a takeover style robbery where they go in with guns drawn and they typically tie up anyone, victims, inside of the business,” said detective Renee Witt.
Police are aware of four robberies in the last eight days. “Suspect descriptions are the same, being two Vietnamese men in their 30s, same height, weight in all of the robberies,” said Witt.
The latest robbery happened on Saturday night at a nail salon on Rainier Avenue South and South Findlay when two men forced employees into a backroom at gunpoint, tied them up and robbed them. In another robbery, six women were forced into a bathroom, tied up and robbed of cash and jewelry.
Police are asking for people with information about the robberies to call police at 684-5540.
