The high winds have calmed, but the damage is done.
Tens of thousands of homes and businesses are in the dark this morning after strong winds and heavy rain from a storm blew through the Pacific Northwest Saturday evening and into the early hours of Sunday.
Puget Sound Energy crews are working to restore power.
As of 11:20 a.m. Sunday, PSE reports it has restored power to several thousand customers. But there are still about 5,400 homes and businesses without electricity in Kitsap, Thurston, Pierce, and King Counties.
Seattle City Light also updated the number of its outages to around 6,700 customers.
Grays Harbor Public Utility District started the day with more than 9,000 outages, but that number was reduced after several hours to just 2,500 customers.
Snohomish PUD reports just 400 outages.
Utility crews and emergency responders also spent the night working to remove fallen trees from roadways.
In Lewis County, just before 10 p.m., a multi-vehicle collision and downed trees blocked all lanes of southbound I-5 near Highway 12.
In Clallam County, about 20 miles west of Lake Crescent, SR 113 was closed about a mile north of U-S 101 due to trees and large branches across the highway.
