A 19-year-old man who was shot after an argument near Pioneer Square Sunday is improving.

His condition was upgraded from critical to serious condition, KIRO Radio reports.

KIRO 7 reports the victim and his brother were near a 7-Eleven at First and Cherry when two men in a car began staring at them.

“They were mean-mugging us so me and my brother started mean-mugging them back,” the victim’s brother said. They pulled up in the alley, and two people came out and was trying to talk crap to me and my brother.”

The brothers walked over to the men, who began shooting at them.

“All I heard was tat tat tat tat! Me and my brother turned around and started running. The only time I looked back, I see my brother running. He was leaning like he got shot.”

Police describe the suspects as black males in their twenties. The car they were driving at the time may have had several other occupants.

The vehicle driven by the suspect was described as a dark colored Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic.

The shooting near Pioneer Square was the second shooting reported in Seattle on Sunday.

Earlier that day, a 27-year-old man was shot to death inside a nightclub south of downtown.

Around 1 a.m., police responded to the 100 block of South Horton Street and said they tried to save the man’s life until medics took over and brought him to Harborview Medical Center, where he died.

No further details have been released.
